Emmons & Mitchell Construction Limited was incorporated in Ontario in 1957 by Edward Mitchell and Donald Emmons. and has been engaged in General Contracting, Project Management and Design Build Projects since its inception.
The original owners Edward and Don held a steadfast belief in maintaining quality workmanship which carries on today with the second generation, Murray Mitchell, Mark Emmons and Robert Vinkle. Murray H. Mitchell – President Murray joined the firm in 1974 as a junior estimator after four years working in the field on various projects. Murray became a principle in the company in 1982. Over the past years Mr. Mitchell has been the Construction Manager on several projects in the Eastern Ontario Area. In 1995, Mr. Mitchell was presented with a Project Management Gold Seal Certificate by the Canadian Construction Association. From 1989 to 1993 Mr. Mitchell was director on the O.G.C.A. Board. Mark D. Emmons – Vice President Mark joined the Firm in 1986 and worked in the field for four years on several projects in and around the Kingston area. Mr. Emmons became a principle in the Company in 1991. Mr. Emmons is the past Chairman of the Labour Management Health & Safety Committee in Kingston and
is presently on the Board of Directors of the Construction Safety Association of Ontario. Mr. Emmons has been the Construction Manager on several projects in and around the Kingston area. Mr. Emmons is an active member in the Safety Groups Program with the Ontario General Contractors Association. Robert J. Vinkle – Secretary Treasurer Mr. Vinkle joined the firm in 1973 and obtained his Journeyman’s licence in carpentry where he graduated in 1977 with the highest marks through Algonquin College. In 1978 Mr. Vinkle moved to the position of Estimator and in 1982 became a principle in the company. In 1995 a Gold Seal Certificate in estimating was presented to Mr. Vinkle by the O.G.C.A. Mr. Vinkle currently is Chief Estimator and directly involved with proposals and budgetary work.
